Are Orthodontic benefits covered under the program?

Yes!  The Silver Plan pays for Orthodontic Benefits @ 50% for dependent children ages 6 to 18 and covered by the policy.  Maximum Benefit is a $1000 Lifetime amount per child.  Example: If Orthodontic Costs are $2,200, 50% would be paid to a maximum of $1,000 (available after a two year waiting period).

How long may I keep my coverage?

You may keep your coverage as long as you pay your premiums and association fees, and the Master Group Policy Numbers 9811 and 11123 sponsored by the NRAA, remains in force.

May a member switch coverage from the Silver Plan to the Bronze Plan?

YES, but only on the member's policy anniversary date.

If a member chooses to switch to a different plan does a new waiver period need to be satisfied?

YES, if switching from the Bronze Plan to the Silver Plan.  Since the new plan has a different premium pricing structure the waiver periods must be satisfied.  Once a member has received benefit services paid by the current plan, they may be in a better position to get through the waiting period of the new plan.

If a member receives services out of the country (e.g. Canada), will the benefits be paid in accordance with the policy?

YES, benefits will be paid at the highest R&C (Reasonable & Customary) level (Level 9) for all international services.

Why is it necessary to join the NRAA (National Members Association of America)?

NRAA is a group Association Dental Plan offering all the traditional group benefits.  All group plans require a common relationship to exist between the plan sponsor and those insured.  In most group plans it's the employer/employee relationship.  In this case, since members' employers do not sponsor a plan, they need to join the NRAA who sponsors this program.  As a member of the larger (common) group they are then eligible to participate in the NRAA Dental Plan.  The Association fee is $2.00 per month and joining the NRAA is a seamless process when applying for the NRAA Dental Program at the same time.

What forms of payment are considered acceptable?

Monthly ELECTRONIC payments by checking/savings accounts or credit/debit cards are the only acceptable form of payment.

Members may authorize a monthly Bank Draft providing Universal Health Systems permission to deduct the monthly premium from their checking or savings account electronically.

Members may also apply over the telephone with a Visa/MC/Discover debit or credit card.  Checking account ATM cards with the MC/VISA logo are also accepted and the premium would be deducted directly from their checking account.

Sending Money Orders or monthly payments directly to UHS or the NRAA are an unacceptable form of payment.

Is it safe to pay for my dental insurance on the Internet?

Yes!  Please note that the only Internet transaction is your initial application.  Universal Health Systems and the NRAA have gone to great lengths to ensure your payment transactions are secure and encrypted.  We have been issued a Secure Certificate by THAWTE.  When you enter the section of the site to apply for the  insurance you should note the http:// has changed to an https://.  When you see the 'S' added to the http:// that denotes you are operating online in a secure and encrypted environment.  You should also see a small padlock on the screen in the lower status bar of your browser.  This assures your personal and private information will remain secure.

Once we have downloaded the initial information from our website, it will remain secure in our company database so we may administer your policy certificate.  Should you elect to change your method of payment or bank accounts, you simply need to contact Customer Service at 1-800-327-5433 or e-mail us at custsvc@dentalquotes.com.
